What Saint Do You Bury In The Backyard To Sell Your House?

If you’re in the market for a new house, you might be wondering whether there’s a way to put a little extra oomph into your home-selling efforts.

Maybe you’ve already tried some traditional methods you’ve listed your home on multiple real estate websites, sent out flyers in the neighborhood, and even had an open house to show off your masterpiece.

But if those haven’t worked (or if they’ve just made things worse), then maybe it’s time to try something new: witchcraft! Okay okay okay, I know what you’re thinking: What about that statue of Saint Joseph that we buried in our backyard? And what about all those spells we cast? Well…let me explain.

Does The St Joseph Statue Work To Sell A Home?
Takeaways
Burying a St. Joseph statue to help sell a house is a practice rooted in the Catholic faith.
The statue is typically buried upside-down near the “For Sale” sign or in the backyard of the home.
Some people believe that burying the statue will bring good luck and help attract the right buyer.
There is no guarantee that burying a St. Joseph statue will help sell a house, and the effectiveness of the practice is up for debate.
Real estate agents have mixed opinions on the practice, with some supporting it and others advising against it.

Step 1: Decide What You Need

The first step is to decide what you need to sell your house. You need to determine how long it will take for a buyer to purchase your home, as well as how much you can afford and want to spend on any renovations or repairs before the sale of your home.

You also need to take into account any other factors that could affect your ability to sell, such as:

  • Do you have enough time?
  • Do you have enough money?

Step 2: Choose A Saint

Now that you know when to bury a saint in the backyard, it’s time to choose one.

The most important thing when choosing which saint to ask for help is to make sure they’re appropriate for the situation.

For example, if you’ve already got a buyer interested in buying your house but they’re not ready to make an offer yet, then Saint Jude may be the best choice because he’s known as “The Patron Saint Of Lost Causes.”

(Also of course there’s no guarantee that burying him in your yard will help sell your house at all.)

If you can’t think of any saints who would be particularly helpful in selling your house, try searching online or asking friends for suggestions!

After all, even though there are hundreds and hundreds of them out there and some people believe there are literally thousands there might just be one who fits perfectly into this particular situation. And remember: If none of these work out well enough then maybe just go ahead and try another option…

Step 3: Get A Saint Statue

After you have chosen your saint, you have to find a statue that resembles the saint. This can be difficult as there are so many statues out there of different saints and most of them look nothing like the person they are supposed to represent.

To ensure that you get the right statue for your needs, here are some tips:

Make sure it is made of an appropriate material. You want something durable enough to handle being buried in the ground but not too heavy so it doesn’t get stuck at the bottom of your cauldron or sink into your backyard soil when it rains (and it will rain).

Make sure it’s small enough to fit in your cauldron and not too expensive since this type of thing tends not sell very well on eBay

Step 4: Bury The Statue With Care

When you’re ready, bury the statue at the foot of your front door. This may seem like a strange place to put it, but I promise it makes sense the statue should face the house as if it’s guarding it and looking for incoming buyers.

Once buried, do a little prayer or chant about what you want in life and how grateful you are for having this house. Then go inside and forget about it until closing day!

Now that’s an easy way to sell your house!

Step 5: Stir Your Cauldron

Now that you’ve set up your altar, it’s time to stir the cauldron. You’ll need a wooden spoon made of oak or ash wood to do this and make sure it’s not just any old spoon.

is should be an heirloom that was passed down through generations of your family. The energy of those who have used it before will help draw in positive energies for selling your home.

Next, stir clockwise three times around the cauldron clockwise looking away from yourself so as not to face any negative energy that might be lingering about (we’re pretty sure there won’t be any but better safe than sorry!).

Be careful not to spill anything during this process and make sure the water has been boiling for at least 10 minutes before you start stirring with your magical stick.

If you happen upon a stray cat or dog on your property while doing this step, feel free to throw them into the boiling pot as well they’re obviously bad luck!

Have a small backyard? Don’t worry, there are plenty of ways to make the most of your space. Our guide on how to make your backyard more small offers creative ideas for designing a functional and beautiful outdoor area.

Step 6: Seal Your Jar

Once you’ve finished filling the jar with soil, place it in the center of your altar. Next, take red string or ribbon and tie it around three sides of the jar. This will help to keep dirt from spilling out when you move it around later.

Next, take a piece of wax and heat it over a candle flame until liquefied. Pour this into an old teacup or small bowl and let cool slightly while still liquid enough to seal your jars tightly against dirt escaping through gaps between their seals (like those found on Mason jars).

Dip one end of your string into the wax mixture and seal one side of your jar with it so that no dirt escapes during transport!

Step 7: Place Your Spell Jar In The Yard

Now that you have your jar, it’s time to use it. Place it in a visible area of your back yard, but not so far away that you can’t see who is in it.

You might also want to place some kind of marker around the jar so that people know what it is and why they shouldn’t mess with it. (A small sign would work nicely.)

You should also make sure that the statue of St. Joseph can be seen clearly through the glass container this will help convince potential buyers that he’s watching over everything and won’t let anything bad happen while they’re looking at your house!

Landscaping your backyard can be an investment, but it doesn’t have to break the bank. Check out our breakdown of how much it costs to fully landscape a backyard to help you budget for your next outdoor project.

Step 8: Whisper The Name Of The Saint

You can recite a prayer or whisper the name of your chosen saint. If you’ve written the name of your saint on your petition, then use that name.

If not, try to remember it as best you can while reciting the following:

Saint _____ (name), please help me sell my house and move on with my life. Please know that this is not easy for me, but I have faith in you and believe this will be accomplished if it is God’s Will. Amen!

Step 9: Burn The Petition

After you have buried the petition and said your prayer, light it on fire. Make sure to do this in a safe area where no one can get hurt by the flames or smoke. Be sure to let the ashes fully burn out before removing any ash from the ground.

Planning a backyard party? Before you send out the invites, make sure you know the rules. Our guide on finding out if you need a permit for a backyard party can help you navigate local regulations and avoid any legal headaches.

Step 10: Light A White Candle

The last thing to do is light a white candle. You’re going to want this one lit at night, so that it can burn for as long as possible, and it should be lit on the saint’s feast day.

Once you have lit the candle, place it in a safe place where no one will knock it over or break it (if you can manage this).

You should keep an eye on your home throughout the night that you are doing this spell, just in case there are any unfortunate incidents with your new stray animal friend or other obstacle preventing them from leaving the house peacefully.

If everything goes smoothly though, by morning time both of these things will hopefully be resolved!

Step 11: Pray To Saint Joseph For Success

You can use this prayer or one of your own, as long as it’s appropriate for the occasion. It is important to remember that if you are praying to a saint and want to sell your home, that they can help with all kinds of aspects of selling your house.

  • The sale price of our home
  • The best possible buyer for our home
  • That we find a buyer quickly

Conclusion

If you’re going to go this far, you might as well be sure that the spell is going to work. As we have said before, it can take years for a house to sell if you’re not careful.

We’ve made sure that each step in our process has been tried and tested by other people who have had success with their own spells before passing them on to us so that when using them yourself there will be no surprises!
